In v.1-2 Paul commends and yet exhorts the church to excel even more in a life that pleases God. vv.3–8 expand upon this call to be sanctified in their sexuality. Now in 1 Thessalonians 4:9–12, Paul outlines three fundamental principles to strengthen and safeguard brotherly love within the Christian community.
